ABC's of Me

This reminds me of one of those email chains that people would send around in middle school/junior high....so of course I had to do it!

A. Age: 26….but I’ll be 27 in a week and a day 

B. Bed size: Queen

C. Chore that you hate: Putting away clean clothes. I absolutely hate it. No problems mopping floors or cleaning toilets, but I am terrible at putting the laundry away!

D. Dogs: None at the moment. We had 2 dogs growing up….1 passed away several years ago and the other just passed last October. I’m most definitely a dog lover, but I don’t have enough space for one now. Maybe in the future…

E. Essential start to your day: Praying with H. I feel “off” if we don’t pray before he leaves. On a less serious note, I need coffee within like 2 hours of waking up or I’ll get a headache. I need to cut this caffeine addiction asap.

F. Favorite color: I’m really terrible at the favorites game….I like to wear black, but in general, my favorite is pink. Or sometimes blue or green. See??

G. Gold or Silver: Both. I used to prefer silver or white gold, but my engagement and wedding rings are gold.

H. Height: 5’4.

I. Instruments you play: None. I don’t have a musical bone in my body. I pray my children get H’s musical talent!

J. Job title: Assistant Director of Admissions

K. Kids: None yet…hopefully soon.

L. Live: Virginia

M. Mother’s name: Julie

N. Nicknames: Some college friends call me Sas—my old initials. And my mom calls me Rita Jean sometimes—can’t remember where that came from!

O. Overnight hospital stays: Thankfully none!

P. Pet peeves: When people don’t use turn signals and I hate hearing people chew their food.

Q. Quote from a movie: I’m completely drawing a blank right now. The only thing that comes to mind is “Everybody dance!” from Waiting for Guffman. So not a meaningful quite, but I find myself saying it all the time and one of my favorites.

R. Right or left handed: Both! I write right handed, but I eat left handed.

S. Siblings: Two…younger sister and brother.

U. Ultimate Vacation: I really really want to go to Fiji one day!

V. Vegetable you hate: Peas. So incredibly gross.

W. What makes you run late: Ohhh everything. I’m one of those people that is perpetually late. Well, I’m either right on time or late. I can never seem to get it together to leave on time.

X. X-Rays you’ve had: Just my finger that I broke playing intramural football in college.

Y. Yummy food that you make: I don’t know…I think I make good lasagna!

Z. Zoo animal: Probably anything but birds. My absolute favorite are the gorillas!

Happy Friday!! :)

accent vlog!

So, I haven't updated this little blog in months for a few reasons, but I wanted to do this accent vlog that everyone has been doing! I watched it and it's somewhat mortifying, but whatever. And I realize that at the end I said I hope you enjoyed hearing my voice. Who says that?! Not what I meant....hope you enjoyed hearing my "accent" is what I was going for there :) Enjoy!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

So...I thought I'd play along this week with Jamie's What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm LOVING Weight Watchers so far! I've officially been following the program for 3 weeks now and it's been a lot better than I was expecting it to be. I lost 5 pounds the first 2 weeks and I have my "official" weigh in tomorrow, we'll see how the third week went!

I'm LOVING the fact that I left work today at 12:30 because of the snow! I've been wanting a snow day for a while and I've thoroughly enjoyed a lazy afternoon at home.

I'm LOVING that I've been feeling content in most areas of my life right now. I've been praying for contentment for a while and thank God for answering prayer!

I'm LOVING that my doctor told me to schedule a massage ASAP to help with the spasms I'm having in my neck. You don't need to tell me twice, Doc!

I'm LOVING my wonderful husband who makes me laugh til I cry and is just so much fun to be around!

TGIF

Just some random thoughts for Friday:

1. I worked out 4 days in a row! I understand how pathetic that sounds, but I promise, I reached a new milestone. Anytime I start a new workout "regime" I never make myself workout every day...it's usually an every other kind of day thing. Not anymore. I must mean business this time. In fact, when we were driving home from Bible study on Tuesday I told my husband that Tuesday would be my "off day." When I started this new healthy living journey I asked him to really keep me accountable. So when he told me taking off a day already was a bad idea, I wasn't too happy. I argued that it was good to have an off day. Yes, I know how ridiculous I sounded! But, in my defense, it was already 8:30 and I was tired! I quickly stopped pouting and pulled it together. We both ended up doing the 30 Day Shred...he now understands why I've been so sore the last few days. Yes, I'm 26, but still act like a 5 year old at times :)

2. I joined Weight Watchers. It has only been a few days, but so far I'm liking it. I need to do some searching for WW friendly recipes, because what I've been cooking just isn't going to cut it anymore. Sorry, Paula Deen!

3. My nephew turned 8 on Tuesday. When I met him he was only 4 and was so shy that I'm not sure that he spoke to me for like a year. Now, he's my little buddy and loves his Auntie Sara. We're going to his birthday party tomorrow at a roller rink...I will be on the sidelines taking pictures.

4. My husband's college friend passed away in a car accident last weekend and I've actually taken it kind of hard. This might be surprising, considering I never met him. It's brought me to my knees in thanking God for His protection. I travel a lot for my job and do a lot of driving, and God has been so faithful in keeping me safe.

5. My love of reading has come back and I'm excited about it! I have a huge list of books I want to read. H got me a Kindle for my birthday a few months ago and I've definitely been putting it to good use.

6. It might snow this weekend. Being that I spent 22 years living in western PA, I have to laugh when the "s" word is mentioned in VA. I guarantee the stores will be bare and there will be nobody on the road.

This has been a long week at work - I'm so happy it's Friday! Happy weekend!
